Everything you need to know about using World of Chat. Please read this before you start chatting.

1. Introduction

World of Chat (www.worldofchat.co.uk) is a free UK-based chat room and forum service. It provides text-based chat rooms and discussion forums for adults aged 18 and over.

By accessing or using World of Chat, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use this website.

These terms apply to all areas of the website, including chat rooms, forums, and any other features available on the platform.

2. Eligibility

This service is strictly for users aged 18 and over.

Anyone found to be under 18 will be removed immediately. If you suspect a user is underage, please report it to staff straight away.

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use this website.
  • You must comply with all applicable UK laws while using the service.
  • By using World of Chat you confirm that you meet the age requirement.
  • Anyone found to have provided false information about their age will be removed.

3. Using the Service

  • World of Chat is provided free of charge. There are no paid subscription plans or premium tiers.
  • Features of the service may change, be suspended, or be removed at any time without prior notice.
  • We cannot guarantee that the service will be available at all times or free from technical issues.
  • You are responsible for your own internet connection and device when using the service.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone.

4. Community Rules and Acceptable Use

These rules apply across all areas of World of Chat including chat rooms, forums, private messages, and usernames. You are responsible for everything you post.

Prohibited Content and Behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited and will result in removal and possible referral to law enforcement.
  • Illegal content of any kind under UK law.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits or endangers minors.
  • Grooming behaviour or any attempt to contact, communicate with, or solicit minors.
  • Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse of any user.
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Threats of violence against any person or group.
  • Fraud, scams, or impersonating another person or organisation.
  • Spam, advertising, malicious links, or promoting external websites without permission.
  • Sharing another person’s private or personal information without their consent (sometimes called “doxxing”).
  • Sexually explicit or suggestive usernames or display names, including names that imply sexual services or other inappropriate themes.
  • Sexual roleplay, sexting, or graphic sexual discussion in public chat rooms or forums.
  • Flooding or repeatedly posting the same text to disrupt the chat room.
  • Distributing or facilitating the sale of illegal substances.
  • Posting explicit images or nudity in any public area of the site.

Language

The main chat room is English only. Both the “C word” and the “N word” are banned site-wide. Abusive or offensive language aimed at any user is not acceptable.

Disputes Between Users

Staff will not routinely involve themselves in personal disputes between users. If you have a problem with another user, use the block function in the first instance. If a dispute escalates and causes disruption to the wider community, staff may intervene.

5. Illegal Content

World of Chat does not permit any content that is illegal under UK law.

This includes but is not limited to:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexually exploits minors.
  • Grooming or attempting to contact minors for any purpose.
  • Terrorist content or material that promotes or glorifies acts of terrorism.
  • Fraud, financial scams, or identity theft.
  • Credible threats of violence against any person or group.
  • Content that facilitates the sale or distribution of controlled substances.
  • Any other content that constitutes a criminal offence under the laws of England and Wales.

Illegal content will be removed immediately upon discovery. Where we are legally required to do so, relevant information may be provided to the appropriate authorities, including the police or the Internet Watch Foundation.

When a complaint is made to law enforcement, World of Chat is legally obliged to comply with any information requests made by appropriate authorities. Data will be provided in accordance with applicable UK law.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

World of Chat is moderated by a team of staff. Our moderators are selected for their problem-solving skills, positive attitude, and commitment to a safe community. They will not engage in trolling, offensive behaviour, or share personal information about members.

What Moderators Can Do

  • Remove content that violates these Terms or applicable UK law.
  • Edit or remove posts where appropriate.
  • Issue warnings to users who breach community rules.
  • Suspend or permanently ban accounts.
  • Investigate reports from other users.
  • Take whatever action is reasonably necessary to protect the safety and wellbeing of the community.

Account Suspension and Bans

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any account at our discretion for violations of these Terms, community rules, or legal obligations, without prior notice.

If your account is suspended or removed and you believe this was done in error, you can request a review by contacting us at hello@worldofchat.co.uk or through our Contact page.

Moderators will not discuss warns, kicks, or bans with other users. Abuse of staff members will not be tolerated and may itself result in a ban.

7. Reporting Harmful Content

If you see something harmful, illegal, or in breach of these Terms, please report it immediately using the report function on the website or by visiting our Contact page.

All reports are reviewed by a member of the team and investigated where appropriate. If your report involves private messages, the information you provide may help us identify patterns of harmful behaviour across the site.

If you suspect that a user is under 18, report it to staff immediately. Any user who continues to communicate privately with someone they know or suspect is underage, without reporting it, may be removed from the site.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact the police directly on 999.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you post on World of Chat. By posting content on the platform, you grant World of Chat a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the website for as long as it remains published.

This licence ends when you delete your content, except where it has been quoted or shared by other users, in which case it may remain visible within those interactions.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you post does not infringe the rights of any third party, including copyright, privacy rights, or any other applicable law.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to that data.

Links posted by other users in chat rooms or forums are not endorsed by World of Chat. If you encounter a link you believe is harmful or malicious, please report it to staff.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Use of the service is at your own risk.

  • Information shared by users in chat rooms and forums should not be relied upon as accurate or factual.
  • World of Chat is not liable for any loss, damage, or harm arising from your use of the service.
  • World of Chat is not liable for actions taken by other users on the platform.
  • Advertisements displayed on the site are managed by Google AdSense. We do not control their placement or content.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our services, or our community standards. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.

We will not notify individual users of changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed of any updates. Continued use of the website after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or your use of World of Chat shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
